Very good quality mahogany so called Carlton House desk. The desk resembles a normal writing table, but small drawers above the surface form a "U" shape around the user. There are small slopes over each of the desktop drawers at the left and right ends of the "U" shape. This form of desk is supposed to have been designed in the 18th century for the Prince of Wales.
This desk is a copy circa 1910 in mahogany with cross banding. With original leather, handles, keys, brass gallery and castors. The desk has oak drawer liners.
All in all this is a very good quality desk truly original.
